Meet the Madava Financial Team



Mr. Turner is the founder and Chairman of The Madava Group (“Madava”) and has 27 years of energy finance, corporate finance, and public and private equity and debt investment experience. Madava is a holding company with interests in energy fund management and energy financial services. Mr. Turner was Senior Partner and co-founder of ArcLight Capital Partners (“ArcLight”), a leading power and energy private equity firm. He presently serves as Senior Advisor. Mr. Turner was responsible for overall investment, asset management, strategic planning, and operations of ArcLight and its funds. During Mr. Turner’s career at ArcLight the firm raised six funds and invested over $17 billion in the energy sector. Prior to co-founding ArcLight in 2001, Mr. Turner founded and built Berenson Minella & Company's energy advisory practice. From 1990 to 1998, Mr. Turner held senior positions at Smith Barney, Schroders, Wasserstein Perella and Kidder, and Peabody & Co. where he was responsible for advising on buyouts, corporate finance structures, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Turner earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.



30 year + Energy Finance Veteran most recently with Wells Fargo Energy Capital. For the past 12 years he lead a team that deployed over $5 Billion across 250 debt and equity transactions. Mr. Green was a member of the leadership team for the Wells Fargo Energy Group, which is one of the largest capital providers to the sector with relationships that encompass public and private companies across the upstream, midstream, refining, services, power and utilities segments. Mr. Green led a team of investment professionals to provide acquisition and development capital to upstream and midstream companies in the U.S. and Canada. Primary products included development loans, unitranche loans and subordinated/2nd lien debt as well as common and preferred equity investments. Mr. Green served on the board of directors of several portfolio companies. His duties also included managing Wells Fargo’s investments in over 35 energy-focused private equity funds. Mr. Green holds an BBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Tripp Evans


Mr. Evans has over seven years of oil and gas finance experience concentrating in sourcing investments, transaction analysis, execution, as well portfolio management. Prior to joining Madava Financial, Mr. Evans led the strategic planning efforts at Amplify Energy and was a Vice President in Morgan Stanley’s Producer Finance group. While at Morgan Stanley Mr. Evans focused on structured and conforming debt financings totaling over $1.5 billion in the U.S. middle market upstream space. Mr. Evans began his career in the North American Power and Gas Commodities Structuring group at Deutsche Bank Energy Trading. Mr. Evans earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia and a Master of Finance in Energy from Tulane University.



Mr. Flicker has 28 years of experience in the financial industry, he was a founding partner, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Risk Officer of TaylorWoods Capital. Prior to founding TaylorWoods in 2011, he served as a Managing Director of Credit Suisse, Head of Commodities for North America and COO of the Global Commodity Proprietary Trading Group. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2007, he was at JPMorgan and its heritage corporations for 20 years. Mr. Flicker’s last role at JPMorgan was a Managing Director and Deputy Head of Trading for Global Commodities and prior to that position was COO / CFO for the Global Currency, Commodities and Emerging Markets businesses. While COO, he also served as Head of FX Prime Brokerage and Head of FX / Interest Rates / Commodities e-commerce. Mr. Flicker received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from New York University in 1983, and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Chicago in 1987. Mr. Flicker previously served on the Board of Directors of FXAll, GreenExchange and EcoSecurities (public company).



Mr. Farlow has been in the credit and lending markets for over twenty years. He was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, having joined in 2001, most recently holding the position of Global Head of the Commodities CVA desk. In this capacity, he traded a global credit, commodities and FX / interest rate book. He approved and managed all credit risk within the lending and derivatives portfolios. He chaired the Commodities Direct Lending Committee as well as being a member of the Commodities Management Committee. Mr. Farlow has significant global experience holding posts in New York, Singapore, London, Hong Kong and Australia. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley’s commodities group in 2007, Mr. Farlow was a member of the Credit Risk Management Department where he gained considerable experience in lending in both developed and emerging markets at both Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Farlow was awarded a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology and holds a CFA.



Mr. Harms has 10+ years in Oil and Gas Lending, Commodities, and Structured Energy Finance Solutions. His main focus is capital solutions for middle market oil and gas producers and midstream companies. Most recently Mr. Harms was a Director in Morgan Stanley’s Producer Finance group, helping to build a $1.5 billion+ buy-side lending book. Prior to Morgan Stanley he has held similar positions with Barclays and Deutsche bank where he deployed over $1 billion+ to the energy sector. Mr. Harms received a B.S. & B.A. from Colorado State University.



Mr. Kennedy has over 15 years of experience investing across the capital structure in complex, stressed/distressed, and catalyst driven opportunities. Prior to joining Madava, Mr. Kennedy worked at Longroad Asset Management from 2008-2014, where he was responsible for focusing on distressed and stressed credit and private equity investment opportunities. Prior to Longroad, Mr. Kennedy served as a senior analyst at Turnberry Capital Management, a multi-strategy credit fund where he focused on investment opportunities across the capital structure. Mr. Kennedy received a B.A. from Duke University in 2002 and is a CFA Charterholder. Mr. Kennedy was a member of the 2001 and 2002 ACC champion Duke Lacrosse teams.



Mr. Lee serves as General Counsel of The Madava Group, LLC. He has 25 years of experience in corporate, securities and hedge fund law and compliance. From 2015-2017, he served as Counsel and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of Madava Asset Management LLC (previous known as Taylor Woods Capital Management LLC). He was Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer at Plainfield Asset Management LLC, which managed a $5 billion multi-strategy credit fund, where he worked from 2005-2012 in legal and compliance roles. Before Plainfield, Mr. Lee was a founding partner in Kieselstein & Lee., L.L.P. , a boutique law firm representing investors in distressed credit transactions where he worked from 1998-2005. Previously, he practiced corporate and securities law at Berlack Israels & Liberman LLP and Gould & Wilkie. Mr. Lee received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1981 and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law in 1985.
